Skin prick testing

Reclaim Your Quality of Life with Allergy Testing

- Now available across all of our locations- Mission Bay doctors, Remuera Doctors  & now Freemans Bay Medical

Do you suffer from chronic eczema flares, persistent hay fever, asthma or unexplained reactions after eating?

Symptoms like skin inflammation, cognitive "fog," and sleep disruption are often linked to underlying allergies.

We provide Skin Prick Testing (SPT) to identify your specific triggers and help you regain control of your health.

Skin Prick Testing is the gold standard for rapid allergy diagnosis, offering a safe and effective way to investigate various conditions in a single 30-minute appointment

Why Choose Skin Prick Testing?

Skin prick testing is a highly reliable diagnostic tool with a Negative Predictive Value (NPV) of >95%.

If your test is negative, we can be highly confident that you are not allergic to that specific trigger.

  • Rapid Results: Unlike traditional blood tests, results are visible within 15–20 minutes.

  • Precision Testing: We measure the "wheal" (the raised bump) to determine your body's specific sensitivity

  • Expert Oversight: Appointments are 30 minutes long and led by Dr. Jamie Shepherd.

  • Southern Cross: Testing is often funded by Southern Cross for most patients under "Allergic Services" benefits (please check your specific policy)

  • Appointment Scope: This initial 30-minute session is for testing and immediate results only.
