How can I check my skin?

Our trained doctors and nurse will diagnose skin cancer, but you are best placed to recognise if something is SORE, CHANGING, ABNORMAL or NEW.

We recommend the Scan Your Skin self-check method.

If you have a lesion of concern, we have urgent appointments available for spot checks.

Why should i have a skin check?

The New Zealand sun is unforgiving. Many of us grew up at a time when using sun protection was uncommon.

New Zealand has the highest rate of melanoma in the world. If caught and treated early enough, it is almost always curable.

Additionally, sun exposure over time causes non-melanoma skin cancers, such as squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) or basal cell carcinoma (BCC).
